AN INVISIBLE WAR - Tackling Antimicrobial Resistance Through One Health

I am pleased to submit a book manuscript entitled “An Invisible War: Tackling Antimicrobial Resistance Through One Health”. Antimicrobial resistance (AMR) is a global public healthcare problem that if not tackled properly will lead to a higher economic, morbidity, and mortality burden than it is now. Antibiotic resistance presents a multifaceted challenge with profound implications for human and animal health and the environment. Addressing antibiotic resistance requires a holistic and integrated approach that includes antibiotic stewardship, public awareness, research and innovation for the discovery of new antibiotics, and improved hygienic practices.
This book highlights the historical development of antibiotics, the biological mechanisms of resistance, and the socio-economic factors contributing to the rise of resistant pathogens. It also delves into the latest research, innovative solutions, and policy measures needed to combat this growing threat. Apart from that, this book also provides key points on AMR in veterinary settings with special reference to mastitis in cattle which has been a major concern to the food security of humans, and the impact on humans, the environment as in the concept of one health in general and the emergence of AMR on global food security in total.
Our book, which contains basic and up-to-date information about antimicrobial resistance and the One Health approach, will shed light on updating the knowledge of the healthcare providers and those who will create health policies on this subject. Further, the latest updated guidelines from the regional, global governance bodies including the World Health Organization (WHO), and the Food and Agricultural Organization of the United Nations (FAO) in collaboration with the World Organization of Animal Health (WOAH) will help in implementing the action plans for the regional government bodies. Antimicrobial Resistance and One Health will not only educate but also inspire action among readers, making it a timely and impactful publication. I am excited about the possibility of working with Nobel Academic Publishing to bring this important book to the public.
